June Open Day Success
On Saturday 17th June the best kept secret in Wells was revealed when the City of Wells Almshouses opened its doors to the public.The historic almshouses, guildroom, chapel and beautiful gardens were all open for visitors to enjoy. Presentations were given about the almshouses both past and present in the 15th century chapel.
The sunny weather was perfect for teas and cake in the secluded gardens surrounded by flowers in full bloom. Many visitors commented that they had walked past the almshouses many times and wondered what was inside.
Do not worry if you missed the open day as the almshouses are also open on the 15th July and 9th September (as part of Heritage Open Days).
